The Locanda Antico Sannio “The Old Sannio Inn” is located in the heart of the medieval town of Baselice. During the long and accurate work for renovating the old family mansion, all original materials were retrieved, both the fine pavements in original brickwork, the ornaments and the  roofing tiles dating back to the beginning of the 19^th century. Each one of the eight rooms have a picturesque view unto the stone paths climbing all the way up to the fortress or unto the roofs of the old buildings in the center of the town. The impressive view of the valley of the Fortore is bewitching with its orchards and vineyards.

A stopover at the Locanda is a must for any traveler wanting to discover the true spirit  of this  area  with its  calm but  good-humoured atmosphere, typical of the old peasant communities. The fragrances, colours and flavours all conserve the rich aroma of once- upon-a-time.   Our restaurant, which is also quoted on the most important enogastronomical guides, offers a wide variety of typical dishes ofthe region. Our chef prepares her specialties according to traditional recipes, using almost exclusively the ingredients grown at the family’s agricultural enterprise.
